Ep. 167 Chynna Clayton: From White House Intern to Michelle Obama’s Bodywoman

Chynna Clayton had a difficult childhood, raised by her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother while her father was in prison. While in college, Chynna changed her major from business to event management, ultimately landing an internship at the White House during the Obama administration.

For nearly a decade, she served as Michelle Obama’s bodywoman, which is an assistant to a political figure. Chynna gained valuable insights into the significance of recognizing and valuing assistant roles. Inspired by Mrs. Obama’s encouragement, Chynna founded Matriarch Made Development, which focuses on helping executives and organizations find and support assistants, as well as executing events. Her company is named in honor of the influential women in her life.

In this episode of Flip Your Script with Kristi Piehl, Chynna shares her inspiring story of resilience and self-discovery. She is passionate about advocating for these often-overlooked roles and aims to write a book to amplify their importance.
