Ep. 49 Madeleine Black: From Rape Survivor to Courage Cultivator

As a 13-year-old girl growing up in England in the 1970s, Madeleine Black was living a carefree, normal life. It all came crashing down one night when she was brutally raped by two young men in her home. Full of shame and fear, she set off on a downward spiral, flirting with drugs, alcohol, an eating disorder and suicidal thoughts. Her life changed after meeting her husband, and Black now uses her experience to impact others with a podcast, TEDx talks and her memoir, “Unbroken.” Black’s Flip Your Script story of healing and survival emphasizes the transformative power of forgiveness.

Topics of sexual assault, eating disorders and suicide are discussed in this episode. Listener discretion is advised.
