Ep. 87 Kanchan Singh: From Saving Animals to Saving Herself to Saving Others

Kanchan Singh founded Crumbs & Whiskers, the first cat cafe in the United States, with locations in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles. Crumbs & Whiskers’ mission is to help homeless cats and facilitate connections between humans and animals. Crumbs & Whiskers has saved over 3,700 cats from being euthanized and has donated more than $41,000 to animal charities.

While her business was thriving and making national headlines, Kanchan was nearing her breaking point. Kanchan suffered from self-destructive behavior, depression and anxiety, which she was not always open about. Through her struggles, Kanchan wrote a poetry book titled “Dear Me, I Love You: Healing Trauma and Finding Self-Love.” Her book highlights what it takes for a successful young woman to confront her weaknesses.

In this powerful episode of Flip Your Script with Kristi Piehl, Kanchan opens up about her struggles and shares her remarkable journey of healing and self acceptance.

Topics of self-destructive behavior, depression, sexual assault and abuse are discussed in this episode. Listener discretion is advised.
