Ep. 145 LeeAnn Walton: From Stroke Survivor to Educator and Advocate

LeeAnn Walton was 44 years old, healthy and active when she had a massive hemorrhagic stroke. She was teaching yoga when she felt a snap inside her head and knew something was off. LeeAnn woke up in the hospital two days later, hooked up to multiple machines and learned she had a stroke. Although it felt like her life was over, LeeAnn accepted her new normal and was able to find her purpose.

Now, LeeAnn is the author of Every Stroke Survivor has a Warrior Within and founder of the nonprofit organization, Stroke Warriors Inc. Its mission is to support stroke survivors on their journey to recovery. The nonprofit is currently working to ensure every stroke ward in New York City has access to a pamphlet that provides resources to help survivors on their challenging journey.

In this episode of Flip Your Script with Kristi Piehl, LeeAnn vulnerably shares the emotional and physical challenges she has faced and why she supports other stroke survivors on their journey.
