Ep. 155 Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour: From Police Officer to America's First Black Female Combat Pilot

When Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour was just four years old, she dreamed of becoming a police officer on horseback. Her dream evolved into becoming America's first Black female combat pilot. She served two tours in Iraq, piloting an attack helicopter above the desert to protect her fellow Marines on the ground.

She left the U.S. Marine Corps to share her story. FlyGirl became an entrepreneur, motivational speaker, consultant and author of Zero to Breakthrough, The 7-Step, Battle-Tested Method for Accomplishing Goals that Matter. She launched VAI Consulting & Training, LLC, where she helps individuals and organizations reach their goals, and she started FlyGirl Construction, a general contracting firm in the Atlanta area.

In this episode of Flip Your Script with Kristi Piehl, FlyGirl shares her journey of persistence, resilience and hunger for success and how she faced rejection multiple times before achieving her goals. She also emphasizes the importance of staying motivated, finding one's voice and pursuing dreams.
