Ep. 156 Grandma Joy & Brad Ryan: From Family Distance to Shared Travels

Grandma Joy didn’t get a passport until she was 91 years old. She and her grandson Brad Ryan visited all 63 National Parks in the U.S. and are now on a new global challenge visiting all seven continents.

Grandma Joy and Brad’s incredible journey isn’t just about traveling; it’s also about forgiveness and overcoming difficult family dynamics. They’re inseparable nowadays. However, the grandma-grandson duo were estranged for around a decade due to a family rift after Brad’s parents divorced.

In this episode of Flip Your Script with Kristi Piehl, Grandma Joy and Brad share their remarkable journey of travel, aging, forgiveness and personal growth. They are proof that it’s never too late to start something new!

CHALLENGE FOR LISTENERS:

Name what it is for you that you’ve said “I can’t, I'm too old” or “I’m too late” and then take Grandma Joy's mantra “What the heck, let's get on with it!”

Vulnerability is hard. And it’s scary, and it feels dangerous. But it’s not as hard, scary, or dangerous as getting to the end of our lives and having to ask ourselves, ‘What if I would have shown up?’
