Ep. 59 Marisa Schulz: From Grieving in Silence to Sharing Our Stories
Marisa Schulz is someone who has been helping people and communities throughout her career. She's a writer, urban planner, co-founder of the creative agency All Together in Chicago and has taught courses at DePaul University. Her work has revolved around others. But it wasn’t until recently that Marisa started sharing her own story and private struggles.
After having her first two children, Marisa and her husband suffered three miscarriages. The family then made a life-changing decision to adopt. In this episode of Flip Your Script, Marisa and host Kristi Piehl talk about the importance of sharing our stories to help others, the pain of dealing with traumatic experiences, the power of community and joy of adoption.
If you or someone you know has experienced a miscarriage, there are several options for support. Talk to your provider about your feelings. Get a referral for a grief counselor who can help you navigate your experience.
