Dee Hays has been shattering stereotypes throughout her career. She discovered her passion for problem solving and followed in her dad’s footsteps when she became an engineer. Dee is now the President and CEO of Excellence Engineering and works on large-scale projects in the oil and gas industry.
But being a woman in the engineering industry isn’t the only stereotype she’s breaking; she’s also an innovator in the fashion industry. When a back surgery made it nearly impossible to bend over to even put on shoes, Dee set out to find a way to wear her more than 500 pairs of high heels. This sparked the idea for HeelzFirst, a first-of-its-kind patented design that hugs your foot to your high heel shoe for comfort and support.
