Ep. 69 Amanda Jacobson: From Childhood Friends to Wine & Crime Podcast

How did three childhood friends from Minnesota find a way to gain tens of thousands of loyal listeners by creatively coupling their comedic personalities and love for wine with their passion for true crime? Amanda Jacobson and her two close friends, Kenyon Laing and Lucy Fitzgerald, found the perfect outlet when they created the Wine & Crime Podcast.

Amanda worked in the hospitality industry for many years before she decided to take a risk and pursue her passion. Since launching the podcast in 2017, the Wine & Crime trio has discussed thousands of true crime cases and has amassed more than 100,000 dedicated fans and followers across their social media channels. Amanda brought her dream to life, but success didn’t happen overnight.

In this episode of Flip Your Script with Kristi Piehl, Wine & Crime co-host Amanda Jacobson talks about what it was like to leave the security of her career to pursue her passion and how authenticity and friendship weave their way into every podcast episode.

CLOSING QUOTE

Remove the word ‘should’ from your vocabulary and treat it like a dirty word, like an expletive, for a whole week and see how you feel at the end of it… Change that mindset to ‘What could I do? What could happen next?’ It’s transformative.
