Ep. 148 Christine Fraser: From Family Business to Golf Course Architect

Christine Fraser grew up learning to play golf on her family’s golf course in Ontario, Canada. She later played competitively in college and competed in the NCAA Division One Varsity Golf circuit in Florida.

Christine spent five years in England practicing golf course design under world-renowned architect Dr. Martin Hawtree. She recently made golf history when she was hired as the first female architect to undertake a Master Plan at the Toronto Hunt Club in Canada. Golf has a reputation for being a male-dominated industry, especially in golf course design. Christine is often the only woman in the room and is working to change the reputation and stereotypes around golf.

In this episode of Flip Your Script with Kristi Piehl, Christine shares her philosophy around her golf course design work and how she is creating community-centered courses. Her belief in fun, sustainable and equitable design has helped her become the architect she is today.
